All of us need to be in touch with a mysterious, tantalizing source of inspiration that teases our sense of wonder and goads us on to life’s next adventure.” Rob Brezsny

The project was born out of the idea of asking “a person” to be photographed to choose a location in London that had an importance and significant resonance for them. A number of parameters where defined: the location had to be outside; natural light only; shooting on analogue (35mm and medium format); no tripod so hand-held; shooting on range of film from 50 to 3200 ASA and a maximum time of 2 hours.

Advertising for the subject the process was to contract a model for the shoot, with them acting as the lead on the image and assigning myself as their facilitator.

These portraits are the beginning of a concept where the person who is being photographed leads the concept of the image.
